Transitory account - Why use a transitory account when collecting checks? |
|
In the real life, you don't go to the bank each time you receive and post a few checks.
You put these checks in a drawer and wait till you have enough to go the bank.
It is the same thing with Condo Manager. We always try to not disrupt from the reality.
You can process many collection sessions and produce your deposit slip when you decide to go to the bank.
Meanwhile, since we must credit immediately the receivable implied to maintain accurate interest calculations, the debit will go into a transitory account (''Automated Cash Management'').
When you produce the deposit slip, this transitory account is credited and the bank account you have chosen for the deposit is debited. This transitory account always returns to zero when the deposit has been produced and if there is no item retained for future deposit. This account is not accessible directly by users.
Doing this, your deposits will always be the same as the real ones passed at the bank, facilitating your banking reconciliation at the end of the month.
