Partner Spotlight: Snaile, Canada's Parcel Locker Company

In another Partner Spotlight post, we at Condo Manager would like to take the opportunity to talk to you about another timely solution for condos: Snaile. One of the aspects that has posed a challenge for condos during the Covid-19 pandemic has been the handling of packages. Given the social distancing requirements and also sharp increase in online shopping, there has been a growing increase of packages in storage rooms in all condos. Snaile addresses many of the issues with a disruptive technology that offers immediate benefits.

The Problem with Packages

Traditional ways of handling packages in condos have been fraught with problems. Packages are often 'lost' but marked as delivered. Often times, they are simply hidden somewhere in storage. The lack of consistency in the way packages are stored is extremely costly. Some estimate that condos waste anywhere between $20,000 to $50,000 per year dealing with package issues. A proper system in place also reduces management and concierge having to spend time sorting through issues.

The Solution: Snaile

Snaile has launched Canada's first multi-carrier parcel locker for condos. The system has offered a practical solution for condos that want to more efficiently handle packages.

The company installs physical and automated parcel locker on premise. In order to accommodate a wide range of condos, they can set up various sizes of smart lockers. When a package is delivered, they are scanned by the deliver person, then a door in the locker opens depending on the size of the package to allow placement of the package.

The resident then gets notified electronically with a one-time use PIN in order to securely access the locker with their parcel delivery. Each placement of package by the delivery person and pick-up by resident is recorded by video 24 hours a day in order to ensure security.

The end result of this process allows concierge staff and property managers to no longer carry the burden and responsibility to accept, store, retrieve packages and communicate to the residents. At the same time, it greatly organizes the physical space and chaos that the traditional method has caused.
